Arty Catch-Up, Amongst Other Things
Amongst my afternoon/evening studies to become a Teacher of English (Which is all kinds of fun btw), I have been creating Anthro-Art again. I think in many ways, it is to prove to myself I still can draw anthro-ised characters and just for the pure joy of it, as I forgot how fun it really was. I have also had the success of selling such pieces I've created, with a sheer fluke of wedging some of them up for auction one day, finding to my surprise that they had found buyers and sold for a good amount of cash ^___^ This is a very major event for me, as it is usually quite a feat to not only sell art, but to get a fair bit of cash for the pieces, as I am not employed at this certain time, I'm practically living off EBay earnings and artwork sellings.

In other events, despite the fact I myself am not Pagan, I did attended Pagan Pride Day with my fellow Pagan sisters ^___^ It of course involved the art of costume, so naturally we all did our best to dress-to-impress!
I may or may not have recycled my Draenei horns for Pagan horns ;D
The day was fantastic (besides getting a little sun kissed), with plenty of activities to spend the afternoon. There were quite a few tasty treats too! I felt really accepted to say I wasn't Pagan, as everyone was so relaxed and welcoming, receiving plenty of horned-compliments.
Thanks goes out to those who planned the event, it really was an awesome day!
In a couple of weeks, I'm attending Dr Sketchy in Nottingham, which is supposedly a Summer Seaside special! I haven't attended for a year, which is odd, so it'll be good to get my life drawing hands on again.
I can't believe I haven't mentioned this yet, but in early September my sister and I will be seeing *drum roll*..... TOM GREEN LIVE! I couldn't believe it when he announced UK dates to his tour, I don't think I need to say that we clicked on the 'book tickets' button quicker than it takes me to make a sandwich! That'll be pretty epic, hoping to make a sandwich related t-shirt too XD
It's just under two months until I re-visit Tokyo with a certain man-o-mine and I may have got my suitcase out already (LAME), I'm too frakkin' excited! Researching the destinations I didn't manage to see on my previous visit, just thinking about feeling the awesome-ness of being amongst the culture again. Tasting the foods, smelling the air, sitting and appreciating everything surrounding, hanging with the locals......bliss ^______^

Vlog Updates and 'The Cove'
Time to link you peeps to the many vlogs I managed to finally edit and complete!

On another note, I finally managed to view 'The Cove' last night. I was indeed prepared to be made aware of events that were going to be unsettling, but this documentary is truly powerful and needs to be watched by anyone who is enthusiastic towards cetaceans. Although, advisory towards those who are weak of stomachs. I was left emotionally drained, feeling mixtures of anger and sadness for the rest of the night and still lingering with me today. Feeling so f*cking helpless towards these mass cullings.....
It also makes me re-ponder about my trip to Sea World and despite how happy and well kept those animals seemed, where were they actually from? Could the dolphins actually be from this same marketing as Taiji?

Getting My Rump Into Planning Gear
Previously on LOAF:
"I have some plans on the horizon which I am now researching into, I'll fill ya'll in when I get it all sorted out and get some definite plans in motion."
What are these plans? They are to Teach In Japan. Since my trip in 2008, I fell head over heals for this country, so recently, I decided to go ahead and make that change! Numerous months of thinking and research has been going down and it wasn't until after a tarot reading from my dear sibling, that was oddly accurate and gave me that final boost to go ahead and plan the dream. Theres something almost Disney about the way I'm feeling about this whole new prospect ^___^
I have now started my TEFL course (Which is alot of fun and due to the part-time aspect, great for my kind of crazy schedule), which will advance my chances in applying, this along with some sturdy CV and cover letter action should hopefully guide me to the holy grounds for next year *FINGERS CROSSED*
I've even planned a trip in Sept, with my partner in crime to re-introduce myself to the Japanese way of life and to get us both prepared.
Staring at the numerous Japan/Tokyo travel books I have surrounding my desk right now, I'm feeling a sense of direction and excitement (I may implode from excitement of returning!), also the joy of eating information is just bliss.

Filler
Time for an update, since previous to my MJ remembrance I hadn't updated this journal for at least three months >___> *ahem*
SO, just to straighten things out...
- I am NOT working at Sea Life anymore, I haven't since late April. The travel to and from work was demanding on my mentally, physically and a big dip in my pay, it just wasn't the job for me sadly.
- LOTRs: Two Towers LIVE was amazing! To hear Howard Shores score come to life in person was truly astounding.
- Fozzy Live was rockin'! A little crushed and Jericho actually threw a bottle into the crowd, which I caught with my head...seriously, it was like there was a target on my forehead that it beelined for XD But it was definitely worth the bump!
- My Draenei Cosplay for the London MCM Expo was VERy successful, the body paint lasted pretty much all day! Although, my hooves unfortunately destroyed my feet after three hours, so I had to resort to my flatter, more comfy shoes I had prepared for such an event. it was SO busy, but despite that, I managed to meet folks and get plenty of fans surrounding my costume. Not sure if I'll be attending the October Expo just yet, I need to think of a Cosplay first!

Woo-chaaa!
- Cali-forn-ia was a success! My sister and I survived the very busy trip spending five days in each and then greyhound busing (The American version of what Englands National Express is) our way from LA to San Diego, with plenty of photos and video footage to tell our tales. Of course the highlight was Disneyland and Sea World! I must admit, I prefer San Diego to LA, if not for the better public transport but just for the cleanliness of the place. LA really needs to do some major clean up to say it's a well known tourist spot! Such a great experience to see how different people are from West versus the East coast. (I swear I'll upload photos on here later!)

A Year On
I decide to update this blog today of all days, as it is a year since Michael Jacksons passing.
To memorialise this, I managed to get down to London to visit the o2 Arena with my sister and show our remembrance in our own way. We were expecting to see a few people around the arena, since there were many gatherings last year around his passing. I was really delighted to see that the 02 arena had actually dedicated a hall to the fans to pay their respects, where his music was playing and you could place cards, flowers, drawings, cuddly toys, whatever you felt to place down in respect to Michael. They had even placed the previous years tributes and walls that people had signed for people to view, along with a new wall for fans to sign.
My sister and I of course left our mark, with a few doodles and words. As my sister and I lay down the sunflowers and vanilla candle we had bought on the table, we wrote our own notes and wrapped them around the stem of the flowers. I had to keep my composure when 'Remember The Time' flowed through the hall, I class that as "our song".
It was a really serene atmosphere, unlike last year, fans had time to settle and come to terms with his passing.
We ended our visit by heading to Kensington Gardens to view the Peter Pan statue (Surprisingly, I had never visited before) and found a smile creep on my face as there was a spotlight from the evening sun shining on the statue. Right alongside with the lake, there were many ducklings too ^___^
The day ended eating KFC and fanta (KFC and orange juice were supposed favourites of Michaels diet XD ) with a dessert at Garfunkel's.
This visit was a refreshing visit to London as a majority of visits "to the smoke" (As my Pa like to put it) usually feature a mass race to a destination and the subway lines being closed. But, on this visit, it was slower paced and not as busy. It also seemed like a type of closure, I understood and accepted that Michael has past, but will still be here with his voice.
