New York Pt.3

Halloween Zombie Record Break

Ok, now back to business.

I handed in my Warhammer art goods today, via hand delivery by myself, just so I know my works are in good hands :) Now I play the waiting game until about February, see if I make into the next round or not.

In that time I'll have my graduation, birthday and a new graphics card to sought out.

It's so odd that I'm finally graduating, contemplating how long I've actually spent in education and whether it has actually been worth the the ride. Socially yes. Educationally, not as I expected. Let me put it this way, I WOULD NOT recommend the University of Derby to ANYONE. I did indeed expect ALOT more from the animation course I attended, as the animators were simply stuck in some kind of limbo between the other subjects, I always felt the tutors were unprepared, biased, under skilled and under appreciative. I felt like I was, and have always been, teaching myself when it comes to art/animation. I'm sure I have many more negative points to make about my course, and the entire University as a whole - but I digress. I'd rather ramble about positive art news.

I came across a giant pile of unfinished drawings lying around in my room today, from earlier this year, subjects I began way before my temporary art block during the Summer. I even began painting one of them today, but got terribly distracted by the animé 'Gurren Lagann'. boooy, was it worth it! It was the final episodes of the series and pleased me to no end with a mixture of totally badd ass ending with fantastic animation, making me realise I couldn't ever compose an animated fight scene D:
I also saw the finale episodes to Battlestar Gallactica, Series Two, which dude, another mind blow! I literally said aloud "NO WAYS!" Ok, I must bring myself to no spoilers.......... BUT WHY BALTAR, WHY?!

H'okay, I edit photograph and draving then vill post tomorrow, da? Da.

Like, woah!

H'okay, I AM HERE. I just haven't had the patience to fill this out.

First of all here is my New York Pt.2 video:

I haven't got round to exporting Pt.3 yet, not-to-mention the Zombie Marathon that happened over Hallow's Eve.

Yesh, my computer did get fixed *BIG GRIN* Fortunately, no need for a new graphics card, just sticking some of the screws back on the already existing graphics card. This was conducted by some much more knowledgable computer repair folk, who told me the previous repair shop I visited is known for shafting people, even damaging their hardware and my faulty card could be related to them. Asses.

Although, (I don't want to jinx anything) I had a weird resolution thing happen to my screen when playing WoW the other night and have stayed weary ever since. Not sure whats going on to be honest, but if I DO require a new graphics card still, it will have to wait until after Xmas. SRSLY. I'm awaiting a free day to crack open the case and explore the insides and see if all is well, until then I'm keeping myself occupied with applying to a job at Warhammer World for an illustrator. All is printed out artwork wise, just need to spiff up my CV and write out some mind blowing cover letter; wish me luck!

In correlation to this is my dear siblings birthday, which we're celebrating by visiting London for the day tomorrow - whoop! Getting a good view of the Francis Bacon exhibition at the Tate and checking out Camden Town market are the main events of the day, hella funs :D Although, it means an early morning wake-up call (5am, I usually head to bed at tha time), I better stumble off this box before I loose anymore hours sleep.

I'll upload schtuff upon my return - TO LONDON!

Farewell for a few days...

Ya-ha, the computer is going in for a couple of days, hopefully no longer than Saturday as I'm planning to go away on Sunday to Rob's (The man I get hugs from). With all the hub-bub I've had with this computer in the past few months, I really want to get this graphics card problem sorted in the easiest way possible and hopefully the more affordable one too. Since it seems that theres a screw loose on the graphics card itself, I'm hoping that they can just wedge another little crewy thing in....but what do I know about computers XD We shall see anyhoo.

Before I toddle on my way for a couple of days, here is my next 'Hallow Lady' installment...

I love how her hair came out in this one, also the dress ripples too ^_^

I may be back informing you of youtube videos too, as I'm in the process of uploading them :)

How fast are you?

How DO they do that?

So I watched Disney's 'Brother Bear' today and I of course was not only astounded by the schweet animation that is obviously found with any Disney picture, BUT I found myself in total awe of how they create water. I mean, I seriously zoned out for about five minutes (During the rain scene when Koda's mother has been killed by Kenai)just pondering about the logisitics of how awesome they manage to pull it off. Just the flow and movement of the splooshes, then the backlash effects when an object hits the surface; it makes me all Keanu Reeves WOAH. I wish I had a GIF for evidence, but I'm sure you know what I mean.

This then got me thinking about animating again and that I should get back into it sometime soon. THIS thought was spurred by how they animated fur. The what I like to call "neck flab" on all the bears had me giggling inside everytime they turned their heads, not -to-mention the delicious bear anatomy (OMG IT'S SO ACCURATE A-BOO-HOO). So I think my next artistic achievment will be to animated a big fluffy, flabby creature turning around and saying something. Yes, that shall be it.

In the meantime, my OTHER artistic projects are still flowin'. My 'Hallow Ladies' idea now has another member....

I'm very proud of how this came mainly because I got to draw a red hair and freckles combination ;) See a more detailed version here. I have only just finished "Lady Witch", so expect her once I get round to scanning it in.

Hmmm, what else?

Oh I managed to accomplish two important things on my "To do" list today:

- Phone up about my computer: Yesh, my computer is finally going in on Wed to a NEW computer repair shop (The last ones became really seedy), and get the graphics card sorted out. It's been bugging (How 'Clueless' of me) for atleast a month, but I haven't had the money or time to get round to it. This will hopefully be the LAST of the computer problems, as it has been non stop even though this badd boy is only just over a year old. I must've spent over £200 easily getting it sorted this past year alone *sigh*

- Phone the dentist about my chipped tooth: ya ha, it luckily is not hurting but I'd rather get it sorted out before something bad happens to it (Knowing my families luck it'll happen as I'm at Disneyland and recieving a hand shake from Jeff Goldblum), soo woo! Getting it checked out on Frija and see what a lovely penny it'll cost me to get it fixed.

Hmm, I should end this with something positive.

Erm, Disneyland?
